(More customer reviews)I did a lot of research before buying this and decided to spend more money on a quality product.We had wanted to use the fire pit as a grill (it comes with a grill insert), but this will not work unless if you build a BIG fire (forget charcoal).Also, I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong, but the metal on the grill insert came off on the food.Either way, we will only be enjoying this as a decorative item and not as a grill.
The design is very pretty, but I would not call it portable- it's very heavy and I wouldn't want to be carting it around.I could lift it myself (it's ~50 pounds), but not without getting the patina/rusty finish all over myself.
Be advised that while it does come with a mesh dome to protect you from flying sparks, it does not come with a cover to protect the fire pit from the elements.This would be a wise investment!
I like that this product comes with the stand welded into the bottom.I wasn't sure that it would, because on other sites they were charging an additional $70+ for the legs.
I have to be honest, I don't think I would purchase this product again.There's nothing outwardly wrong with it- I just don't feel like the quality is so much better than the ones that were $100 or $150 cheaper (and still looked very similar).I'd like to exchange it for something cheaper, but return shipping costs prohibit that from being a cost-effective transaction.
