(More customer reviews)I shopped for fire pits for MONTHS before deciding on this one.I wanted something deep enough to be able to add more than one skinny log to, AND have the cover fit correctly.We can easily fit several good sized logs in the pit and still use the cover.The side cutouts are great for air circulation.The grate works wonderful for everything from steaks to veggies!My boys like it for the obvious reasons: hotdogs and marshmallows.We have it on a two story wood deck.Instead of the expensive pads that they sell for under them to avoid embers from scorching or burning the deck, I went to Lowes and got 9 of the square concrete stepping stones.They made a nice 4ft x 4ft pad and only cost about $25.00.The mesh of the cover is so tiny that any embers escaping will not be large enough to even make it to the ground, let alone burn anything.Over all, we love it.Especially my husband, and he didn't want me to get one in the first place.I am going to get a cover to keep the rain and snow out.There are no drainage holes in the bottom and we would like to still use it in the winter.I would definitely buy this again.
